VOCALENSEMBLE RASTATT
Das VOCALENSEMBLE RASTATT, das nach der Barockstadt Rastatt im Westen Baden-Württembergs benannt ist, entwickelte sich unter der Leitung seines Dirigenten Holger Speck zu einem Kammerchor der internationalen Spitzenklasse – zu einer Formation, deren Musizieren sich durch lebendige, zwingende Interpretationen und außergewöhnliche Klangreinheit auszeichnet („his sound is aking to pure gold“, so der AMERICAN RECORD GUIDE). Gerne geht das Ensemble neben der Pflege seines breiten Repertoires auch auf Entdeckungsreisen mit Erstaufführungen und Ersteinspielungen.
Den Wettbewerbserfolgen bei Wettbewerben des Deutschen Musikrates,
den Internationalen Kammerchorwettbewerben Marktoberdorf und Tolosa folgen international hervorragend besprochene CDs beim Label CARUS sowie Rundfunk- und Fernsehproduktionen u.a. für SWR, Radio France, Deutschlandradio Kultur Berlin und Deutschlandfunk Köln.
Das VOCALENSEMBLE RASTATT gastiert bei renommierten Konzerthäusern und Festivals wie dem Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, dem Musikfest Bremen, der Kölner Philharmonie, dem Festival Rheinvokal, dem Europäischen Musikfest Stuttgart, den Schwetzinger Festspielen, den Wartburgkonzerten des Deutschlandradio Kultur, dem Barockfestival Mulhouse und ist häufig Gast beim Centre de Musique „Les Dominicains“ im französischen Guebwiller.
Auch Ausflüge in die Opernwelt scheut der flexible Chor nicht: Mit Edita Gruberova in den Titelpartien sang er „Lucia di Lammermoor“ und „Norma“ in Baden-Baden und Köln. Mit Klaus Maria Brandauer und dem Chamber Orchestra of Europe gastierte das Ensemble mit Mendelssohns Sommernachtstraum beim Bremer Musikfest.
Es arbeitet projektbezogen in solistischer, klassischer Kammerchor- oder in oratorischer Besetzung mit ausgewählten jungen Sängern, die sich in einem Vorsingen vorstellen. Partner sind die institutionellen Förderer: die Stadt Rastatt und das Land Baden-Württemberg. Inzwischen ist das junge Ensemble durch seine Konzerte und CDs im In- und Ausland für Stadt und Land ein hervorragender musikalischer Imagebotschafter.
LES FAVORITES
Das Barockorchester LES FAVORITES ist ein transparent, stilsicher und mitreißend musizierendes Ensemble mit ausgewiesenen Barockspezialisten (u.a. Veronika Skuplik- Violine, Reinhold Friedrich- Trompete) und Begleiter des VOCALENSEMBLE RASTATT, tritt aber auch selbständig in Erscheinung. Namensgeber der Formation ist Schloss Favorite bei Rastatt – jenes Lustschlösschen, das sich die Markgräfin Augusta Sybilla von Baden nach ihrer eigenen Vorstellung unter der Leitung des böhmischen Architekten Michael Ludwig Rohrer ab 1710 errichten ließ, und dessen sinnenfrohe Architektur den Musikern bei ihren Interpretationen als Vorbild dient.
VOCALENSEMBLE RASTATT,
named after the baroque city of Rastatt in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, has developed under its conductor Holger Speck into a chamber choir of international recognition. The ensemble is characterised by lively, compelling, historically informed interpretations of a wide variety of musical styles, and by an exceptional purity of sound (“his sound is akin to pure gold”, American Record Guide). Alongside a dedication to its core repertoire of baroque and romantic a capella literature, the ensemble frequently explores new territories with numerous premiere performances and recordings.
The ensemble performs regularly in the resplendent Ahnensaal of the Baroque Residence in Rastatt as part of the concert series ”Klingende Residenz” initiated in 2009 by Holger Speck in cooperation with the STAATLICHE SCHLÖSSER UND GÄRTEN BADEN-WÜRTTEMBERG (State Palaces and Gardens Baden-Württemberg).
The ensemble has enjoyed success at the choir competitions of the Deutsche Musikrat and at the International Chamber Choir Competitions in Marktoberdorf and Tolosa. The CD recordings for the CARUS label that followed have been met with international acclaim, as have numerous radio and television productions for the SWR, Radio France, Deutschlandradio Kultur Berlin and Deutschlandfunk Köln.
The VOCALENSEMBLE RASTATT has performed in renowned concert halls and festivals including the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, the Musikfest Bremen, the Kölner Philharmonie, the Rheinvokal Festival, the Europäisches Musikfest Stuttgart, the Konzerthaus Freiburg, the Schwetzinger Festspiele, the Wartburg concerts for Deutschlandradio Kultur, the Baroque Festival in Mulhouse, and is also a regular guest at the Centre de Musique “Les Dominicains” in Guebwiller, France.
This flexible choir does not shy away from excursions into the world of opera: with Edita Gruberova in the title role, the choir sang in productions of “Lucia di Lammermoor” and “Norma” in Baden-Baden and Cologne. Together with Klaus Maria Brandauer and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, the choir also performed Mendelssohn’s “Sommernachtstraum” at the Musikfest Bremen.
The ensemble works on a project basis, varying in size from one voice per part to a traditional chamber choir or oratorio choir. The singers are all handpicked young soloists from around Germany and Europe who audition to the artistic director personally.
Sponsors include the City of Rastatt and the Baden-Württemberg State Ministry for Science, Research and the Arts. Through its concerts and recordings, the young ensemble has become a distinguished musical ambassador for the city and the region both at home and abroad.
LES FAVORITES
The baroque orchestra LES FAVORITES is made up of renowned baroque specialists such as Veronika Skuplik (violin) and Reinhold Friedrich (trumpet) and is characterised by a transparent, stylistically assured and thoroughly stirring musical language. The group is the musical companion of the VOCALENSEMBLE RASTATT, but also performs independently as a purely instrumental group. The orchestra is named after the “Schloss Favorite” near Rastatt, the summer residence erected by the Bohemian architect Michael Ludwig Rohrer in 1710 according to the wishes of the Markgräfin Augusta Sybilla von Baden, and on whose playful design the musicians model their own performances.
L’ ENSEMBLE VOCAL DE RASTATT
« His sound is aking to pure gold », ainsi le American Record Guide a loué la qualité sonore de l’ ensemble vocal de Rastatt qui doit son nom à la ville baroque de Rastatt située dans l’ouest du Baden-Wurtemberg.
Sous la direction de son chef Holger Speck, cet ensemble est devenu un chœur de chambre de classe internationale.Son travail musical se distingue par la recherche d’une interprétation rigoureuse et vivante et le souci constant d’une pureté de son extraordinaire. A côté du travail qu’il accorde à son ample répertoire, l’ensemble vocal arpente volontiers des sentiers nouveaux comme lors de premières auditions ou de nouveaux enregistrements de CD. Dans le cadre de la série « Klingende Residenz » (la résidence sonore) qu`Holger Speck a créé en partenariat avec les châteaux d`Etat et les jardins du Baden-Wurtemberg, l’ensemble vocal donna des concerts dans la salle des ancêtres somptueuse de la résidence de Rastatt.
Les grands succès lors des concerts organisés par le Deutscher Musikrat et lors des concerts internationaux à Marktoberdorf et Tolosa ont engendré des enregistrements avec le label CARUS d’une qualité supérieure confirmée par des critiques internationales ainsi que des productions diffusées par la radio et la télévision (SWR, Radio France, Deutschlandradio Kultur Berlin et Deutschlandfunk Köln).
L’ensemble vocal de Rastatt se produit en concert dans des salles réputées (p.ex. dans le théâtre du festival de Baden-Baden et dans la philharmonie à Cologne) et lors de grands festivals (le festival de Brême, le festival Rheinvokal, le festival européen à Stuttgart, le festival de Schwetzingen, les Wartburgkonzerte de la Deutschlandradio Kultur, le festival de musique baroque à Mulhouse).
L’ensemble est souvent invité par le centre de musique « Les Dominicains » à Guebwiller en Alsace.
Grâce à sa flexibilité l’ensemble ne dédaigne pas non plus le monde de l’opéra. Il se produisait ainsi avec Edita Gruberova dans l’opéra « Lucia di Lammermoor » et dans « Norma » à Baden-Baden et Cologne.
Il a participé avec Klaus Maria Brandauer et l’orchestre de chambre d’Europe aux « Nuits d’été » de Mendelssohn au festival de Brême.
L’ensemble travaille selon les projets ou soit par exemple en formation de solistes, de musique de chambre ou en formation d`oratorio avec de jeunes chanteurs recrutés sur audition.
Ses partenaires sont les promoteurs institutionnels à savoir la ville de Rastatt et le Land Bade-Wurtemberg ainsi que le ministère des sciences de la recherche et de l’ art.
Entre-temps, ce jeune ensemble vocal est devenu grâce à ses concerts et ses enregistrements en Allemagne et à l’étranger un « ambassadeur musical » d’excellence.
LES FAVORITES
L`orchestre baroque « Les Favorites » est un ensemble au style sûr et transparent, passionné et convaincant, composé de spécialistes en musique baroque (entre autres Veronika Skuplik /violon, Reinhold Friedrich /trompette) qui se produit également de manière autonome.
Il doit son nom au château « la Favorite » près de Rastatt, l`un des petits châteaux d`agrément que la margrave Augusta Sybilla de Baden a fait construire sous la direction de l`architecte Michael Ludwig Rohrer à partir de 1710 et dont l`architecture décorative sert de modèle aux musiciens dans leurs interprétations.
